Christian men and woman should be more worldly

Before you call me a carnal Christian, there's a verse you should read,
But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— 34 and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. 1 Cor. 7:33

Being worldly has always been construed as being carnal or living in sin by Christians. Paul, without any condemnation, just states the obvious that men and woman in a relationship must be concerned about being trendy.
What he meant is very important for us to understand especially for those who seek to be in a relationship. In our vernacular, we would say that men and woman should be world savvy. Knowing what's going or being in tune with the current culture of our world is quite important to leading a strong and mature Christian life.
You might disagree but as Christians push away the world believing it's the God honoring thing to do may in fact lose opportunities to connect and lead people to Christ.
Sanctification doesn't mean separating ourselves from the world but showing our Christian uniqueness in the world.
Calling certain styles and activities quickly as sin will close doors in serving the Lord.
Jesus came into a sinful world and didn't shy from it. The religious leaders even considered him worldly,
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' Luke 7:34
For example, dancing (I don't mean sexual dancing) is still being condemned by the church as sinful or carnal and yet, non believers find it ridiculous for Christians to condemn giving religion a bad light and turning them away.
Most dancing is non sexual, fun, healthy and a way to connect with people.
In previous centuries, Christian's were educated in worldliness as to present a more intellectual or sophisticated character. Why are we dumming down our people and creating social monks?

When Jesus met the woman at the well, he went against religious bigotry to speak to her. He didn't care what the religious community nor what his disciples would say about His inappropriate actions. Reaching people was His primary goal and we should make sure we don't close doors in obeying God's command.

Another example is music. I've seen churches who still play with old songs and with few instruments making it quite boring and embarrassing to a point that the youth wouldn't be caught dead bringing their friends into church.

Other churches who embrace current trends are growing fast, reaching people and bringing more people to the Lord than ever before. Best of all, they make God look cool and going to church great, which isn't that our Savior's will?
