Star Or Angel Of Bethlehem

Image
I know that for centuries, we've come to believe that the star of Bethlehem in the Biblical narrative of Christ's birth was some sort of supernatural cosmic event. We've also accepted it as such because we trusted Bible translators in deciding to use the word "star". But, was it a LITERAL star? As explained in the Greek Interlinear concordance, the word "star" can be rendered literal or FIGURATIVE! I believe the Bible can clearly demonstrate that it in this case it was figuratively. A STAR IS A SUN We all know that a star is a Sun that is millions if not billions of light years away. Even though God could in His infinite power move a Sun so far away as it would appear in our sky and shine where Jesus was born, it would still not agree with the complete narrative of the Nativity story. ARGUMENTS AGAINST BEING A LITERAL STAR Astronomers, understanding the laws of physics, have a hard time believing the narrative and I would not blame them.

Salvation 101

I'm shocked by how many Christians don't understand God's salvation and even more when it includes pastors! The core foundational doctrine of the Christian faith should the first and best understood truth we should all know and yet, few get it completely right. The plan of salvation, as most call it, I'd rather call the "process of salvation". There's a process in getting saved. God actually established the steps which all must go through to be saved. The salvation process can be broken down in three states, Before salvation The person must have an open heart and an open mind to receive God's truth. A good soil as in the parable of the sower. As a child has an open mind and heart, so must a person be to make a decision. The moment of salvation When a person understands they have offended God and that Jesus paid the penalty for their sins on the cross and by faith asks for forgiveness through Christ's sacrifice, they attain salvation. Should married woman wear a veil in church?

Image
I know that most churches have dismissed the veil with the understanding that it represents a woman's hair or just that it's an old cultural custom. But I think it's worth rethinking for the main reason that Christian woman might be missing out on a great blessing from God. Before I go on, let me make this clear that I believe woman are equal to men in every sense. The veil is a special requirement from God to woman and for their benefit. Men being the head of the family is a positional order and not of one being better than the other. Just as Jesus was positional below the Father. Also, I'm not being judgmental about this, this is a woman's responsibility. I'm simply letting my beloved sisters know that there might be a great blessing waiting for them if they chose to practice this request. First thing to note is that wearing of the veil only applies to married woman as the context states in 1 Corinthians 11. Single woman do not have to wear it. Most Ch

Jesus's return between 2028-2031 - A Biblical approach to estimating the time

Yes, there have been lot's of false dates given for the end of the world and Jesus's return but this approach is simple, clearer and I believe more acceptable according to the Bible. First, let's clear up one annoying misunderstood verse. Christians use this verse to argue that we will never know when His return is immanent, 36 But about that day or hour no one knows , not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24 First, let's make it clear that this verse is not speaking of the Rapture but of His return to Earth after the tribulation. Matthew 24 is all about the Tribulation period and Jesus's return to earth. This is clearly explained in this verse, 30 Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great gl

Churches need to help single people get married

Churches should not be pushing Christians to stay single unless they want it themselves. Actually, they should encourage marriage and offer singlehood as a second choice, which is not what is being done. You might disagree on the basis of what the Apostle Paul wrote, I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord. 33 But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— 34 and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. 35 I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord. 1 Cor. 7:32-35 I think Paul's purpose was not to establish a rule about if someone should marry or not, but s

Christian men and woman should be more worldly

Before you call me a carnal Christian, there's a verse you should read, But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world —how he can please his wife— 34 and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world —how she can please her husband. 1 Cor. 7:33 Being worldly has always been construed as being carnal or living in sin by Christians. Paul, without any condemnation, just states the obvious that men and woman in a relationship must be concerned about being trendy. What he meant is very important for us to understand especially for those who seek to be in a relationship. In our vernacular, we would say that men and woman should be world savvy. Knowing what's going or being in tune with the current culture of our world is quite important to leading a strong and mature Christian life. You m
