Messianic Jew or Messianic Gentile
First of all, any born again Christian is Messianic. Meaning that he/she believes that Jesus Christ is Lord God and the prophesied deliverer of Israel and all believers. But there are does who believe born again believers should not forsake some old testament rituals or commands because God commanded that they should be followed. This same question was brought up in Acts 15 where Jewish Christians wanted the Gentile Christians to follow Mosaic law. Peter explains why the laws were no more required to be obeyed, " why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?" 10 The end decision was this recommendation, "It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements : You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality." 28,29 Old Testament New Test
